Workshop: Garden Design Workshop - Creating Your Water-Wise Oasis!
Time: 5/17/2017 from 5:30 PM to 4:00 PM
Venue: 20 4th St, Petaluma, CA, Petaluma, CA, US, 94952

Join Daily Acts and the City of Petaluma for this free, hands-on evening to develop an individualized landscape design and get growing towards your own water-wise garden paradise!

Like many, you may have turned off your sprinklers in response to the drought, but aren’t looking forward to watching your yard turn brown this summer. Or perhaps you’ve been thinking about getting rid of your lawn, but don't know what to put in its place? Let us help you design a garden that will nourish your senses, provide habitat, and enhance your home value, while saving money on your water bill.

We’ll be sharing info about our favorite, tried-and-true water-wise plants and garden elements as inspiration for your personal paradise, with a focus on gorgeous edible and habitat-providing perennials. Attendees will have the opportunity to work through their garden design ideas and questions with feedback from peers and professionals. We'll also discuss rebate programs, sheet mulching, creating permeable surfaces, and siting greywater/rainwater catchment systems, where appropriate. You’ll even have the opportunity to draft a landscape plan!

Participants will leave with the resources needed to confidently design their own water-wise garden, source appropriate plants, and group them accordingly in the landscape for ease of irrigation programming.

Water-wise garden paradise here we come! Hope to see you there.
