Workday: Rain Tank Installation at Cali Calmécac School Garden
Time: 11/5/2016 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Join us to bring eco-stewardship to the next generation!

Volunteers are needed to help install a brand new 2,650 gallon rain tank at the Cali School Garden!

We'll be capturing thousands of gallons of rainwater off of one of the classroom roofs, and using it to water the kids' veggie garden at this amazing Spanish-language immersion charter school. The kids will even get to use the rain-watered veggies in their own cafeteria. How cool is that?! Let's help them grow to be even better stewards of the dry California landscape and the world they're inheriting.

Volunteers will get the opportunity to learn how to install rain tanks, rain gardens, and drip irrigation. Don't worry, no technical skills can be provided.

We'll serve a delicious, homemade lunch too! This will be a great chance to get to know new people in the community, as well as learn how to utilize the gift of free water falling from the sky. Please be sure to sign up ahead of time so the organizers know how much lunch to make.
